C: Case study; how to get to the top of Google

gloucestershire-web-design-how to get to the top of googleWelcome to Day 3 of the Gloucestershire web design A-Z blogging challenge.

Today we’re sharing a case study which shows ideas on how to get to the top of Google.

One client, an estate agent, came to us with an existing website that just wasn’t working for her.

She’d been in business five years but wasn’t getting much Google love.

Stats were low, with around 200 unique visitors per month and when searching for her main keyphrase she didn’t even appear on page TWENTY of the Google results!

Her site was ok in terms of design, but missing some key functionality: SEO was not in place, there was no blog, no social media interaction and the newsletter sign up form wasn’t working which meant she was missing out on valuable leads.

We rebuilt the site on the WordPress platform, adding a compelling call to action for newsletter sign up (and offering a great free gift). We encouraged her to blog just once a week and share posts via social media. We SEOd the entire site and now manage her blog, going in each week to SEO individual blog posts on her behalf.

The results?

Within three months, the site had climbed the organic search results and was appearing on page two. Ok, so that isn’t exactly how to get to the top of Google, but from not appearing at all, to showing up on page two within three months I think you’ll agree is pretty impressive.

And the thing is, it’s not that hard to do when you know how.

What about you? Are you on the first page of Google for your keyphrases? If you’re ready to get out of the maze and onto Google, contact Gloucestershire Web Designs or call us on local rate: 0845 45 99 100 to see how we can help you.
