Everyone loves to talk about themselves and the love to share an opinion. Open up a blog post where you ask your readers opinions, thoughts or suggestions. Ask them a personal question or find out what keeps them awake at night. This has the added bonus of providing you with future content ideas and is free market research for your business.

There are some fantastic infographics on the internet. If a picture paints a thousand words, an infographic probably paints ten times that amount. People want soundbites of information, and an infographic delivers that in spades.

Have you found yourself glued to a TED Talk or YouTube video recently? If you learned something from a great video, chances are your readers are looking for the same information; so write an introductory paragraph telling your readers what you learned and go ahead and embed!

Do you have some favourite quotes that keep you going? Some words of wisdom that get you out of procrastination or do the words of your wise Grandmother still ring in your ears? People love inspiring or funny quotes to get them through the day and the great thing about quote is they can go viral on twitter.

We all love statistics – for example did you know there were 175 million tweets sent from Twitter every day in 2012? and that 250 million photos are uploaded to Facebook every day? See? You loved it!

Cute cats sell folks! Everyone has a soft centre just waiting to be activated by some furry or funny animal. Inspirational images soothe the senses and help people get through their day. Funny images bring much-needed relief to a stressful morning. Images also allow your readers to get to know you a bit better. Make sure you give credit where credit is due and don’t infringe copyright laws.
