Welcome to Day 6 of the Gloucestershire web design A-Z blogging challenge.
Today we’re on letter F and I want to talk about fonts.
Question: How many fonts does it take to make a great website?
Answer: probably two
How many times have you struggled to read a yellow font on a black background?
Or a handwriting font in pink on a peach page?
Or, horror of horrors, the Comic Sans font!
It’s ok, I’ve used it too!
Going back to the answer ‘probably two’; a clear, readable, web safe font for the main text and a striking and visually compelling font for headings such as H1, H2 etc is really all it takes to give your website design the edge.
Lots of different fonts will do you no favours at all; unless you’re going for the grungy, home grown look or you want to create an online scrapbook.
Here at Gloucestershire web design, we focus on keeping our client’s content readable and allow it to take centre stage. We don’t compete for attention with fancy fonts, scrolls and scripts. We provide the blank canvas on which you can sell your products and services effectively to your target audience.
And with a couple of well-chosen fonts we can take your website from mundane to magical…
What about you? Do your website fonts serve you and your customers? Are you stuck in the Comic Sans era? Contact Gloucestershire Web Designs or call us on local rate: 0845 45 99 100 to see how we can help you.
